Dear Members,
I do not recommend putting anything that contains yeast into your system. This goes for RidX as well. My wife and I purchased our first home last year. After only four months of living in this house, we had to have our septic system repaired at a cost of approximately $3000 dollars. After checking I found out the previous owner had used Ridx. The guy that did the work for us said what these products do is really clog your leach field. This guy said he looked at one tank and when he opened it up it looked like it was setting on a stove, it was boiling from having yeast add once a month. As for me I will have my tank pumped when necessary, it will be much cheaper than having a clogged leached field replaced.

I work for a sanitation company for 17 plus years. The best maintenance for tanks is pumping every 3-5 years, depending on size of tank, leaching system, and family usage.
Products such as Rid-X, take what should be in the tank, and puts it to your leach bed and clog the perforation holes in the pipe, and the gravel around it.
The yeast starts bacteria, which is what maintains your tank, and can be started with spoiled meats or road kill. We use a product called Llmo, which is 10,000 different live bacterias in a gallon jug , only added after pumping, "every 3-5 years".
So in my opinion regular maintenance is the best and cheapest way to maintain your system.

I live in live in Live Oak, Florida and paid $2,100 for 900 gal tank and 375sqft EzFlow drain field. And the company that installed it pretty much said the same thing. Every 3-5 years pump your system out and you won't have any problems. Keep all that junk out of your leach field, especially if you have EzFlow leach field it will dfinately ruin the styrofoam pellets.

I also tested this product and I am still using it. I have had no problems in over 33+ years. We live right on the TN. KY. line and there is lots of red clay. We have had the tank pumped once, I have a lot of leach line and like I said no problems, maybe it all depends on the ground you have. This is Old Papa Fred 1949.
