The Trailer Guardian ($51) locks a trailer to a tow vehicle to help prevent accidental decoupling, it installs in seconds with a universal application (featuring 1/8-in. height adjustments) that fits all ball-and-coupler combinations. The Trailer Guardian also accepts a lock in one of the spring-pin holes to further secure the trailer to the vehicle. DuraSafe Inc, 865-544-5615. www.durasafelocks.com

I got a wet drill bit that worked but got everything else wet and needed special tape to work at all. Now I'm being asked to pay a member fee of $300 that wasn't brought up when I signed up for this. Ok maybe it was in the fine print somewhere but I specifically remember seeing my membership was supposed to be a one time fee (which I all ready paid)! For $300 I might as well just go out an buy the tools I want and not get stupid wet drill bits that only half work!!!!!

I have been using a Trailer Guardian on my tow vehicle since 2004. I will not tow a trailer without it! I did the still pictures for the TG website showing how Trailer Guardian will prevent accidental disconnect of the hitch from the ball. The only way your trailer is going to come loose from the ball is if the ball stud shears off. Will stay connected even if the ball's nut comes loose or falls off completely or the ball is smaller than coupler size. Prevents disconnect if the safe angle is exceeded, such as when driving through dips in road or driving surface, entering/exiting driveways or parking lot entrances. Also prevents trailer theft when hitched to the tow vehicle. Ask your insurance company if they will give you a discount for using this!
