There are
gobs (gardening jargon) of products that are touted to help you manage debris when doing yard work. Some of these work, but only a few really work, like this one. Check out what gardening-tool guru Veronica Lorson Fowler says about one of her favorite products.
Product: Pop-Up Garden Bin
What it is: Lightweight canvas bin that springs up or flattens down
Where to find it: Fiskars (where it's called the Kangaroo bag),
Gardener's Supply Co., and home and garden centers.
Price: $30 to $60
What I thought: A decade old, my bin is starting to get holes from heavy use. I'll replace it, though, because it's indispensable. Super light and easy to lug around, it doesn't bang against my legs like rigid buckets and heavier bins. A smaller size is available, but splurge for the size that holds 30 gallons and is 3 feet tall. You can fill it with leaves, weeds, lawn clippings, and more. It flattens down and fastens for storage. The best testimony about this tool: When two of my neighbors saw it, they both borrowed it and then bought one themselves!
Get yours and start your fall clean-up!
