PHOTOGRAPHY COURTESY MEMBERS

jewelry cabinet

Jumbo jewelry box
Made mostly out of 200-year-old reclaimed barn wood, this lovely jewelry armoire built by Club member Corrie Everhart of Pikesville, Maryland, stands 6 ft. tall, spans 30 in. wide and weighs approximately 110 pounds. Corrie incorporated a spacious base cabinet with decorative door details, large and small drawers with foam-cushioned ring holders and a top cabinet that features glass doors and 48 small hooks for hanging all types of necklaces. Despite this project’s size and intricate details, Corrie says it took him just two weeks to complete.

pizza oven

Backyard pizza place
When their favorite neighborhood pizza place closed its doors for good, Club member Mark Guarino of Hamden, Connecticut, and his brother, who lives next door, designed and built this wood-fired pizza oven between their homes so they could recreate the flavors they loved. The structure includes more than just an oven; it also features storage for kindling, work tables, cooking utensils and more, plus electricity for powering a radio, a TV and a light fixture. “This project took my brother and me 189 hours to complete,” Mark says, “and it was the most enjoyable project either one of us ever did.”

water feature Wonderful water feature
For their first attempt at a water-feature project, this pond created by Club member Bob Owens of Hornell, New York, and his wife, Karen, is pretty impressive. It features a four-tier waterfall that flows into a 40-ft. pond at the base. The couple used 35 tons of boulders to create the shape and depth of the falls and pond, and they incorporated a small garden and walking path with stepping-stones along the sides. Bob and Karen even added three specialized landscape lights to illuminate the falls at night.

Mini Harleys

Handcrafted cradle
Life member Fred Cockle of Everson, Washington, designed and built this rocking cradle for his first grandchild, a boy. He crafted the heirloom using wood recycled from a set of bleachers from Nooksack Valley High School, and he is proud to have given the old wood new life. The cradle’s simple design is accented with a few heart-shape details, and the rocking mechanism gives the piece a functional finishing touch.

I think you were suppose to type "Cradle", not "Candle" when you listed the four choices. Either way, we like the Cradle best!
