Thanks Dewey.
Hey guys, I got 6 more sets done so saw will be down for awhile.
Started rebuild today, forgot camera if anyone might be interested....
Rockwell 34-345. Made in the 1970s I think.
Have no parts book/manuel as my son bought it cheap and gave it to me.

Have found some info so far.
Some say this old thing was a piece of junk from the start, others liked theirs.
Delta took over the brand name and probably production in 1984 or so.
They have no unit with this model number now so no parts help there.

The blade "Throat cover" ( ??? ) was not flat to table.
Am sure this was a replacement some time in its past as the bottom had dimples where flat head screws go through and mounting brackes do not. I ground off the chamfer extensions so it is flat and added .165" shims.
Now it is not too bad but bent a little.
I should start out fresh and make a .250 thick one. Maybe of plexi as it is cheap.

Inside - the arbor does have some play so bearings need replacing.
Also the raise/lower blade device  is very hard to turn as only a crank handle comes out.
Measured blade distance from front to back compared to push slot and is off by .015 but that is suspect as blade is crusty. Also I think blade is not perpendicular to table when set at 0 stop.
To get at these things I am thinking of taking off the table.
Looks like 4 bolts and it's done.
Any warnings from you folks about doing this?

Roller things on bottom don't work. Have to drag it.
After I am done with inside will try an fix those.
I put side covers on stand with an inlet for shop vac but it doesn't help a whole lot.
Just stuck the hose in a hole, maybe should make a funnel type thing.

A lot of work needed to be done on that old thing, wonder if it's worth it.
( Sounds like a line I overheard my ex once say )

Any suggestions/comments please.

Randy

Randy, it appears that you are on the right track.  If the table is not at actual zero to the blade, then you may have an adjustment on your indicator.  I know absolutely nothing about this saw, but the device that points to the degree of angle should have an adjustment.  As Old Man told you, you want to use something square to set the table to the blade.  The indicator should be able to be set separately.

Thanks for keeping us apprised of your progress.  And, your parts may be compatible with other saws.  You may have to shope around to find them, but checking with a local hardware store may get you started.  Also, I found bearings that I needed in a local shop that specializes in bearings.  And, they were cheaper than that of the manufacturer.    The best to you.
