Chain Saw Like a Pro
Learn chain saw operation from a world-champion lumberjack.
POSTED BY: Mike Berger
March 22, 2011
If you own a chain saw (or simply want one), you know how useful they are for felling trees, clearing deadfall and preparing firewood. But along with their usefulness comes the potential for injury. According to the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission, there were more than 30,000 chain saw injuries last year alone. But by following proper operating and maintenance procedures, you can achieve years of safe, reliable service from your chain saw and avoid
becoming a statistic.
To better instruct you in proper chain saw etiquette, we sought out renowned chain saw authority Ron Hartill, seven-time worldchampion lumberjack. We sat down with Ron for some hands-on instruction and, in the process, discovered that even if you’re an old hand at using a chain saw, there’s always a tip or two you can learn when it comes to safety and proper operation.

I don't know about your system, but I had no trouble downloading this PDF file. It loaded within seconds (and I was dreading it because I am on Dial Up.) and the copy was incredibly clean and very readable. You might have to reinstall your Adobe Reader.

I had no trouble downloading the fie. However, the information was rather basic and nothing new in it for me, maybe it will provide some information for a person new to chain saws.

I also had no problem downloading the PDF file, it's good to know basic chainsaw owner information. I'm sure it will help someone.

Hey guys guess I was not clear enough. It's not downloading I was talking about, it's the file. Pg. 1(42) is ok albeit pics are tad fuzzy, pgs. 2(44), 3(46) and 4(48) are 1/2d and minimized is what I see. So when enlarging to be more readable, the pics are way fuzzy.
