Well, we missed getting these done for Christmas, but son and I got the Thomas the Train tracks completed yesterday for his kiddos.

Was a fun project to work on together!

Sixty, great job, just like the store bought track. I noticed that son is hard at work and your no where in shop, did he do all the work and you took part of the credit? Looks like the 2 of you had fun with that, many hours of play time coming for the little engineer. thanks for shareing.

Fantastic job Sixty. Did you use a template and router to do the male end of the tracks?

    Thanks Eric!

Actually I bought the router bit set from Rockler.  There was a .pdf I downloaded that showed how to build the jigs to use the bits.  Making the jigs was the worst part - LOL!

Really nice job on the tracks.  The ones in the store are extremely expensive.  You saved a bunch of money.

I can't figure out how you cut the tongues on the tracs to well.  I can understand the receptacle and I've tried making the tongues with a bandsaw.  What did you use and how?  Thanks.

Gator, I bought these!  If you look in the OVERVIEW box, there is a link for Free Downloadable Train Track Plan.  This is a .PDF that shows how to build the jigs and use the router bits - hope this helps.  It explains it way better than I can!

Bet you had as much fun working with your son as I'm having with mine.

    Great job on the tracks.
