I'm looking for the blade holder for a craftsman mod#315-17290 scroll saw blade holder, sears does not show this as a replaceable part, but it can be replaced by driving the roll pin out. so if any one out there has an old warn out saw like this please contact me. This will be the third time I have tried to post this, don't have a clue as where the others went.

    RV,

Please post a few pics of the part.
Need to see what it looks like and can you tell what material it is? (steel, aluminum)
I "might" be able to make you a new one.

    PM me if interested.

After looking up the model # on Sears Direct it appears you have a jig saw and not what we would commonly refer to as a scroll saw. On their site Sears does call it a scroller saw, so some may be confused as to the tool you are referring to. Just wanted to point that out so you won't miss any possible leads. Correct me if I'm wrong please.

Just in case your off on a digit of your model number, or for others looking for a blade holder for what is usually called a scroll saw due to the subject line, here is a link to a site that has several different retrofit blade holders...

They also have several other replacement parts for the older scroll saws...

Thanks for the replies HR. The best I can do for now is the pic on Sears sight, It apears to be aluminum or pot metal, I loaned it to a friend and he busted the holder out the front where the set screw is for the blade. Will try to get pic's a little later got to take DW to chiro this AM hurt back yesterday.
Dewey yes I generaly refer to it as a jigsaw also, but called it a scroll because that s what sears called it. This saw is in great condition except for the blade holder. It was almost new when I loaned it out, I have been using it for years like it is, but is getting difficult to keep blade in straight.
EZ thanks for the info will give them a try.

Not sure if you guys noticed, but Sears actually calls that a "Scroller" saw, not a "Scroll Saw". I believe they are the only ones that use that, but maybe others do too. It is meant to describe a jigsaw ("Saber Saw" to me) that allows the blade to pivot so it is not parallel to the base. You can lock it parallel or you can unlock it and turn a knob on top of the saw to turn the blade any direction you want; backwards, sideways, whatever.
