Try doing a search on Craig's List for several areas in your general part of the country (upper right hand side of the CL listing page).. I found a 3 HP motor for my Craftsman that I'm rebuilding for $75 by looking outside 'my' area...
The guy even met me half way since the motor was not in 'my' CL area..
What is the motor doing, or not doing?
Have you tested the capacitor to see if that is the problem? If it is, that is an easy fix anyone (with a little common sense) can do..
Are you positive that you have the wiring right? Changing jumpers inside the wiring box on the motor itself is easy, although can be confusing to some at times.. A motor wired for 220V but running on a 110V power supply, won't run too well..
