I need to install 2 new rear struts on this vehical, I recently put them on a 2000 monte carlo ss. I was able to buy the entire strut assembly ( springs included) for the SS. I cannot find the entire essembly for the LS. Will the strut assembly for the SS fit on the LS? Or will I have to rent the tool to remove the springs from the old assembly and reinstall the springs on a new set of struts?

According to the Monroe Selection Chart (click here), they use DIFFERENT STYLE AND P/N STRUT ASSYS. The '99 MC uses p/n 71633 (click here) while the '00 MC uses p/n 71662 (click here) . If you look at the two pictures, THEY HAVE DIFFERENT APPEARANCE AND MOUNTING PLATES.
