I agree with you DLAVOIE,

Just another reason why we should have active moderators on this board. It could then be easily remedied.

WELL IF WE HAD BETTER INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO DO WHAT EVERYBODY WANTS I WOULD HAVE DONE THAT.

I HAD TO ASK 4 PEOPLE HOW TO POST   THE PICTURES AND GOT NO ANSWERS. SO I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO TELL YOU.

I HAD TO STRUGLE FOR DAYS TO GET THTA MUCH DONE.

I'M NOT HERE TO STEP ON ANYONES TOES.YES IM PROUD TO FINNLY HAVE A SHOP LIKE THAT. WITH LOTS OF PLANNING AND THE HELP OF THREE REAL GOOD FRIENDS I WOULD STILL BE WORKING ON IT IN STEAD OF IN IT.

Punjab,

Like I said, please don't take it personally. I just wanted you to get the credit you deserve and earned.

Sometimes, its a learning process. Whoever you asked failed to help you and you didn't ask the correct person. For future reference you can ask for help from the club by using FROM HANDY button at the top.

Be patient cuz sometime it takes a little while for them to respond. Good luck on your future posts.

Punjab,

Nice use of space. Looks like you have everything pretty well organized (I envy you!)  Also evident is that that Kubota takes up way to much of your available space. If it will fit in my 5'x10' trailer, I could come get it and bikebuilder and I would share it!! If not, we'll figure something out.....Just kiddin'.....great shop.

The edit button is on your posts only. It lets you edit your own posts, if needed.

Check out the Unofficial FAQ. It may help you use this crazy place. The FROM HANDY menu button, mentioned before, will not be of any help in using the forums.

So much for adding pictures of my shop.  My shop dont even rate.

I think your shop is just too cluttered, not enough room.  You in no way have enough storage space and your lumber rack is to small.  Man I tell you some people just never go big enough.  I think you shop in general sucks....

OHHHHH wait a minute I am talking about my shop......LOL

Good looking shop my friend

Punjab,

I was talking about DLAVOIE's shop.  I didn't even see your post about your shop until this morning when I went back through the postings.  Still your shop drawfs my little shop.  Looks good just the same.

Messmanswoodworking: Shall we have a worst shop contest? I put up partition walls, carving as much space as I though I dared out of the basement family room. It looks more like a (small) storage room than a work shop. My wife lets me move excess tools into the hall so I have room to work. And I'm constantly doing the old shuffle to get from one tool to another. To rip long boards on the table saw, I have to open the door so that the outfeed can go into the hall way. Definitely NOT bragging, but complaining! LOL

TKEENER,

My shop is 12 x 24 with all my tools in it, work benches, woodstorage the whole nine and a small area to sit and relax.

I will start a new thread for the pics for it.

Moose:

Are we having problems posting or are we just trying to be anal? I'll let you make that decision. Since you've joined only about 2 out of 10 of your posts have said anything. The rest have been just like the last 10 posts above. If you don't have any thing to say, then just wait until you do instead of wasting space here in the forums. Gets to be pretty annoying when you are surfing the forum trying to catch up on posts and you run across crap like this. Also I was trying to be nice when I commented on your 2nd post in" sad news " A member is going through a hard time with the loss of a loved one and is looking for the support of his fellow members to help ease the pain a little bit and your using that thread to make an asinine post just makes you look bad. By the way what were you testing in the first place, That you knew how to spell and count? If you don't know what you are doing and need some help, start a thread in MISC. and ask for the particular help that you need. Many of us tried to help you get an avitar but there seems to be problems that we couldn't overcome, so maybe the problem lies in your system and you need to get someone who knows computers to help you out. Not trying to sound like an @$$ but if you have something to post, then so be it. We are all here to share and learn. Your input can be just as valuable as anyone elses, but if you are just posting to waste space and bring your posting numbers up, then you are going about it all wrong because then people will start to ignore your posts alltogether. This is Just My Opinion on this, so think about it and if ya want to bitch me out in a reply-go ahead-At least it will be a post that actually says something.

HHAHN,

I agree totally with your post! About time someone said something, now I wish someone would do something. I get tired of individuals who abuse this message board when we just are trying to help each other. Someone please tell the system administrator that stunts like this are unacceptable and unnecessary.

SO I DID AND ENTERED IT AS A TEST.MAKE ONE MISTAKE AND THEY WANT TO HANG YOU.          SHOULD I BUY THE NEW ROPE OR DO YOU WANT TO USE  A   USED ONE ?

WELL GO HEAD AND REPORT,CANCLE MY SUBSCRIPTION,DO WHAT EVER YOU FEEL SHOULD BE DONE. I HAVE NEVER BAD MOUTHED ANYONE HERE. SO FAR I HAVE NOT RECEVIED HELP FROM THE MAIN OFFICE, BECAUSE THEY DON'T LISTEN.  I HAVE THE RIGHT  TO SAY SOMETHING ABOUT THIS AND IF YOU CAN READ YOU WILL SEE THAT I DID.

Moose, This is true, You were in the misc. thread but you were also in a sub thread where some one had lost a member of his family. If you want to try something you should start a new topic of your own and state that you are just trying to test an avitar or something. Then no body would care one way or another what you do there. Post Post post there if you want to-don't go into somebody elses thread and make a dozen posts and delete them. It screws up that thread totally and pisses people off. Just common courtesy and common sense should tell you that. You don't come in to a forum as a new member and make people mad at you right from the get go, sit back and tour the boards and feel things out and see how they are run first. As far as administration goes - we can't help you there- they are their own people and have their own way of doing things. In my experience when ever I contacted them, they have always gotten back to me, maybe not as fast as I would like them to have, but they do respond in time. There are only so many people to run this site and there are thousands and thousands of members who are also trying to get some of their time for help-so be a little patient and give them some time. Be courteous in your emails to them, cause more than likely if you are rude in any way that could just be a reason to put you on the back burner. There is an 800 number you can call and talk to a person, live. The members here on the forum will help you as much as they can as long as you let them, but copping an attitude with them will just get you ignored.  And why in your last post would you want to contact admin. anyway? You already stated that they don't listen to you!??? Mow if you tone done your voice and quit yelling in capital letters , we'll start over from scratch and welcome you to the boards once again.

Moose123,

I am not here to get in a message battle with you, I was just tired of your posts that I have seen in about every message subject. Your action and comments are completely unnecessary and I was commending someone for finally bringing your unacceptable action to your attention. It's individuals like you that spoil it for others who really want to learn something or have VALUABLE information to pass on. If you haven't got anything valuable to say or just want to raise hate and or write rude comments....go somewhere else because no one at this site appreciates it. Enough said.

Deputydawg;

How did you go about changing your handle? Been trying to figure out how to go back to my original name since the change over.

Also with your new name you could use my avitar...Seems to go with your name. Here's the URL link if ya want to use it, I got a hundred more I can use, so go for it you want.   http://bestanimations.com/Animals/Mammals/Dogs/Dog-11-june.gif

HHAHN, First thanks for the avatar. I had to change my name, because the site kept locking me out for some unknown reason and would not let me log in. I would change my name, log in for a day or two and I would be locked out for a week. It would not allow me change my name to one of my previous names thats why I have so many previous user names. It appeared to me when they upgraded the site it blocked some from using their original names.

I had to start from the main page, enter member number, password and it treated me like a new user, you see it took four times before finally locked in. I can't tell you how to get your original name back, maybe you might give them a call. Good luck and thanks again for the avatar.

Proper dust collection is important to any shop..  Depending on what you have (and plan to grow to), will determine what you need in a collection system..

I'm sure others will be along shortly that have more personal experience in this area...

BTW, welcome to the group..  How about you drop down to the New Members section and give us an introduction of yourself when you get the chance...?

I think Robbiet was trying to create a post but replied instead. Robbiet what do you mean by Stymets? I am unfamiliar with that term.

I took 'stymets' to be system... If I'm wrong, then please forget I ever replied.. LOL

EZ;  You are correct in saying system ,meaning dust collecting, but I don't think you do know what "stymet" is. If I may be of help you may check what I took the liberty of researching out Try going to gorillasnot.com. Not trying to be a smart $$s just trying to kill several birds with one stone. Hope this clears up a few things. In MHO robbiet No.

Your right ramj81, I don't know what stymets is actually (I assumed since we were in the workshop thread and with the context of the post, I assumed it was 'system' that was intended)...

In going to your link (http://gorillasnot.com/), I still don't know what it is.. LOL   I did a word search on that page and found it wasn't there...  I do admit I have not read the page word for word yet (I'll try later this evening..).

I just did a quick search on the net and found several references to it being a sur-name and a few references in a foreign language..

I do appreciate your effort none the less though, and maybe you can point me in the right direction as I'm always willing to learn something new.. and willing to fess up when I've screwed up (again).. hehehe

Try doing a google search for dust stymets see what the first thing that comes up. You are both right it does not say anything about stymets but may have been a typo error on robbiet part but I kinda read between the lines. I think it is funny that a search came up that way though. Sorry for misleading both of you just trying to help, Will not do so again!

ramj81  First of all, there is no need (in my opinion) for you to be sorry...  As I said before, I like to learn new things.. and understand you were trying to help out.. (which is very much appreciated).

Funny thing, I did as you asked and went to Google and entered "dust stymets" and what comes up first is our discussion here at Handy... LMDAO...

Thanks for the giggles...

I thought my new shop was neat.  I got the covets all over again!!  Eat your heart out Norrm Abrams   I really like your sawtable layout.  Did you taylor it to your saw and area or did you get plans somewhere.  I like to be creative too.  Looks great and I'm sure it is very functional.  I too, like to keep my shop clean and not let it get away from me.  Where you put your mower, etc. I put a full bath (shower etc) and put the other stuff in the basement.  Again. A great job.  Keep cutting!!!!
